Welcome Here! It’s Great to Know About Pure Gospel Africa

Who Am I?

I’m Innocent Letam Akara, an ordinary person by many standards, yet deeply committed to an extraordinary calling, sharing the pure gospel. I am both an entrepreneur and a trained missionary with the Navigators Nigeria, with a clear sense of purpose in discipleship and mentoring. I have passion for expressing heartfelt experiences and life lessons through writing. At the core of my mission is a burning desire to see house churches established across Nigeria and the entire African continent.

I became a believer in my early teens and have been involved in evangelism and church leadership for many years. But this platform is not about spotlighting my personal credentials. Rather, it’s about creating a space for sincere gospel conversations, mutual learning, and the promotion of God’s kingdom purpose.

Why Another Platform?

You may ask, “Aren’t there enough Christian platforms already?” That’s a valid question. But despite the abundance of churches and ministries, the gospel remains unclear to many, even among professing believers. So, no, I don’t believe we have too many platforms for gospel clarity. In fact, we need more, especially those that are rooted in Scripture and aimed at true evangelism and discipleship in order to recover the gospel in Africa.

Still a Navigator

For those who know me personally and wonder if this is a departure from the Navigators Nigeria, let me clarify: Absolutely not. I remain fully committed to the Navigators Lagos Zone Leadership Team. This initiative is simply another expression of that same calling—to live out and share the gospel as faithfully as possible.

My Church Experience and Awakening

Over the years, I served in various leadership roles within the church. One troubling pattern I observed was the tendency to build convictions around inherited teachings, principles passed down from spiritual forefathers, often without thorough biblical scrutiny. Doctrines were shaped more by tradition and human methodology than by the Biblical truth.

I, too, was part of this system. I fought to defend it, even when Scripture was presented with clarity to challenge it. Our minds were often locked in the mold of certain religious godfathers, making it hard to see or accept anything different.

But by God’s mercy, a shift began in my heart. I became deeply dissatisfied—not only with what I was receiving but also with what I was passing on to others. I sensed that God was calling me to something deeper, though not into the conventional role of a pastor. I sought His direction in prayer.

The Pure Gospel Discovered

In 2011, God answered in a surprising way through a man named Mr. Enyichukwu Offia, who came to me as a customer. Over time, we became  loyal friends and, in 2015, he introduced me to the Navigators, an international missionary organization in Nigeria known for its deep commitment to Scripture and small-group discipleship.

What struck me most about the Navigators was their emphasis on critical engagement with the Bible—not just reading it, but understanding it, applying it, and living it out. They taught me how to study Scripture, do personal quiet time, pray meaningfully, evangelize intentionally, and disciple others effectively. It was radically different from what I had known.

Through that process, my calling became unmistakably clear. God spoke to me through John 15:8:

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

And again in John 15:16:

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last…”

Those words ignited my soul. I could no longer ignore the call to bear lasting fruit for God’s glory.

Integrating Business with the Pure Gospel

Since then, I’ve come to understand that my business is not a separate, secular endeavor, but an essential part of God’s Kingdom agenda. There is no such thing as “my personal business”—everything I have belongs to God. By His grace, and through working in teams with like-minded believers, I have been able to commit, though in my own small way, to serving His Kingdom purpose. I’ve actively engaged in evangelism and discipleship across various spheres: the workplace, the neighborhood, the local church, and even school campuses. For me, mission is no longer an occasional activity; it is a lifestyle woven into the fabric of everyday life. So, practicing faith in business is achievable by Christian entrepreneurs.

Just as God used someone to guide me, I pray that He will also use me to guide others. As Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 2:2:

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”

A Cry for the Pure Gospel in Africa

The gospel has been present on earth for over 2,000 years. Yet today, its message remains unclear to many, particularly across Nigeria and the broader African continent. Instead of one pure gospel message, the biblical truth has been diluted and fragmented into countless versions. In the African religious landscape, this distortion is especially widespread, leaving many—especially the younger generation—confused and unsure of what to believe or which direction to take.

Pure Gospel Africa was born out of a burden God laid on my heart: the urgent need to address this growing confusion and reclaim the gospel clarity. In a region where religious noise often overshadows biblical truth, there is a critical need to create more avenues for people to access the undiluted gospel—free from manipulation, cultural distortions, and human traditions.

Our mission is simple yet profound:

To correct falsehoods, encourage biblical faith, and present the gospel in its purest form within the African context.

Guided by Scripture and the Holy Spirit, our team is committed to building a sincere, Christ-centered community where believers are equipped for both evangelism and discipleship. We envision a movement where faith is not inherited blindly, but developed through personal engagement with the Word of God.

Here’s the pressing concern:

If we, today’s generation, continue to accept everything we are told without personally grounding our convictions on the biblical truth, we will inevitably pass on this confusion to our children and future generations. We cannot allow the cycle of diluted truth to continue unchecked.

The Bible presents one unified story, a message of hope, redemption, and truth. We must preserve it as it is, without additives or tampering.

So let us return to the Scriptures. Let us read the Bible for ourselves, and for the sake of those who come after us. Let us embrace the gospel as it is meant to be: pure, powerful, and unaltered.

An Invitation to Connect

I’m not here to impress anyone with superior scriptural knowledge. My desire is to connect with others who are passionate about the truth of the pure gospel, to share insights, and to grow together. If what you’ve read resonates with your heart, then let’s connect. Let’s learn together. Let’s be faithful messengers of the unchanging gospel.

We are messengers with the Bible’s message sealed within us. Our duty is to deliver it just as we received it.
